Something different ….. Crochet.
As you will know my blog is mostly about my art …..
Painting in miniature in Encaustic wax paint is my passion …..
Crochet to Relax
To relax I often crochet, I only learnt to crochet three years ago, when a wool shop opened not far away from where I live, and they advertised crochet lessons, and that’s how I got hooked. 😉
I had lessons and attended the workshops at The Crochet Lounge run by the owner, Corinne who I came to find out was not just a enthusiastic and very talented crocheter, but a crochet designer and pattern writer.
I have made several of her crochet pattern, including “Duvet Day Cardigan”, fingerless mittens, a bunny rabbit, some strawberries and a few Easter eggs too ….. and I’m now making some hearts from her latest heart Crochet pattern. The patterns are all very well written, many have step by step photos to help, they also have lots of tips too.

I’ve finished one heart, in an Aran weight yarn from Cygnet and I’m just starting one in this beautiful yarn shade called “The Waltza” I love that name, it’s from the Helter Skelter Range which is a chunky weight yarn, so I’m using a 5 Hook this time. The pattern gives details of which hook to use depending on your yarn choice. A very helpful addition I have to say.
I get my wool and Yarn from the Crochet Lounge in Southend, good thing I have a wool stash as they are currently unable to open due to our local lockdown restrictions.
The Crochet Lounge website, has many patterns to download and crochet kits, all of which are created and put together by Corinne herself.
I can highly recommend these to any Crochet addict …… like me.
