Miniature Ballet Paintings

Ballet Dancer miniature dollhouse art

Ballerina Dolls House Art

My first miniature art paintings for 2019 have a theme of Ballet.

These two small paintings on the right here; are a dolls house painting that co-ordinates with the the flower ballerinas screen below and the ACEO is entitled  “Ballet Practice”

Original Art as Dollhouse Furniture

My Dolls House screens (room dividers) have been very popular over the years and I like to try new topics and subjects but I haven’t done ballet before, even though my ballet dancer paintings are well received.

So for the new year, the theme is Ballet…..

The middle screen shown here is in fact twice the size of the other two and first one I painted last week. It’s for a 1:12th scale dolls house, I’m calling it “Flower Ballet” as the ballerinas are surrounded with flower bouquets as they might be at the end of the performance. This is a unique one of a kind piece of art as miniature furniture. This three panel screen is an original piece of art, the panels are painted in encaustic wax paint on card backed onto 2mm mount card and paper taped to give the concertina effect, the back has coloured paper backing.  The size of this piece is 12cm high, the outer panels are approximately 3cm wide and the middle one is 4cm.

In contrast the other two screens are for a 1:24th scale dolls house and are very tiny and delicate, with the height being just 7.5 cm and 8cm respectively.Dollhouse ballerina screens

Dolls House Furniture Art Painting :: Posted by: Hazel on October 22nd, 2018

New Dolls House Furniture

Last weekend I went to the Rayleigh Dolls House Fair, shopping not selling. I have had a stand at the Dolls House fairs at The Mill in Rayleigh in the past but I haven’t done fairs in 3 years now and sell my work online or by direct contact and commission only now a days.

Setting the Scene

I like to show my paintings in the best way possible when displaying them for sale online. I often take photographs in my own 1:12th Art Gallery or in my 1:24th scale set. And I thought it might be fun to make a room setting as a lounge to show how they might look displayed on the wall.

And this is what I came up with.

There were some wonderful stalls at the fairs and I managed to get these and a few other bits and pieces including some new frames too.

I love painting in miniature and my dolls house paintings have been very popular, and I have recently expanded my range of miniature art to include a range of miniature panel paintings which I have made into screens as furniture for dolls houses.

I have shown them online via facebook as sold some as soon as I posted them, I also took them to the latest Dolls House show in Suffolk and they were very well received.

Miniature painting easels :: Posted by: Hazel on August 17th, 2013

Miniature Art Easels

We, Adrian and I have created some miniature easels to display my tiny paintings on, the easels are made from scratch, in hard wood, my husband is very clever ……. I have the vision and he designed and made them.

Displaying at 1:12 scale

The easels are approx 140mm high which equates to about 5 and a half feet , which would be about right for a painting easel I think ……..
