A wonderful Collection of Miniature Dolls Houses
A fellow miniaturist Linda whom I follow on Instagram recently showed her collectible dolls houses in her feed and some were showing my art inside and she has allowed me to share these, and other new photos she has sent me, with you on my blog.
Linda tells me
“I have several houses, a large Victorian, a modern colonial and an English stone cottage that is my witches house.”
“Your art is so beautiful in person”
Linda has several of my paintings in her houses and has also used them as part of her seasonal displays. It is so lovely to see my paintings in their new homes, it really brings them to life.
When Linda says “they are so beautiful in person”, I’m really pleased, this is the comment and feedback I get more than any others, the depth of colour, texture and sheen of working in the Encaustic medium is not shown to its fullest in photographs and selling my art online is a challenge at times as the image is all there is to go on for a collector.
I think you will agree these miniature properties look amazing, the patience and detail …… just WOW.
The basket flower in this beautiful room in her house, the northern lights in her modern colonial house and a “Tree of Life” style picture which is one of my favourites and looks amazing in the stone cottage.
This Tree of Life piece has layers of encaustic wax paint on a black encaustic card that I have scratched and painted with hints of gold wax for the leaves. The painting has been backed onto card, the edge has been painted to give the effect of a framed border and to give an idea of the ratio thus piece is 2 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches in size.
Room Boxes Seasonal Displays
I just love how miniatures can we displayed, I often say “miniatures are not just for Dolls houses”.
These Instagram posts of amazing seasonal displays, which are room boxes “Cleaning up ready for Halloween” and Christmas Holiday which she has used my paintings in too are just delightful and so detailed, the more you look the more you see.
Thank you so much for sharing your miniature houses with us Linda
