In The Studio @ Art In Wax This Week
I’ve been busy in the studio this week at Art In Wax.
This is a new wax on wood painting, 4 by 4 inches square, lots of layers of wax for a lovely smooth glass like look then some layers of colour for the flower which has more texture as I have carved gently into it ….. I also painted the sides of this panel to see how that effect looks ……
Today @ Art In Wax
I thought it might be fun to take a few pictures this morning before I get started …..
This is where I am working today
This is where I am working today, not going to be painting today, although lots to do! You can see all the pots of wax on the hot plate, which is not switched on so the wax is solid.
I received my order of supplies this week too, so have lots of stock now, new colours of R & F Handmade Paints ; Alizarin Orange, Alizarin Crimson, Egyptian Violet, Viridian plus lots of panels to paint on to ……..
Which is my next job, masking and preparing the panels with Encaustic gesso, ready to start on some new ideas I have for paintings ….

Hi Hazel Loving your new paintings on wood and the bright colours give the effect of movement. The sides look great painted and your studio still looks organised and tidy! Don’t know how you do it but look forward to seeing more new paintings. Julie
Thanks Julie and yes the colours of these wax paints are amazing and the sheen is great on the deeper wax layers like this 🙂
It gets a lot messier in here when the wax starts to flow lol
Thanks for the comment
Hazel

Thank you Julia 🙂
