Art In Wax : Encaustic Art By Hazel Rayfield
How to paint a dolls house miniature painting :: Posted by: Hazel on March 13th, 2019
How I painted this dolls house miniature painting
I’ve been taking some step by step photos of how I painted this new floral arrangement miniature dollhouse painting.
As I am an encaustic artist, painting using heat tools it was not easy to paint and hold the camera!
The stages of my latest miniature painting
You can see the stages as I layered the wax paint, I started with an Encaustic gloss card with was cream colour, layering gold wax to start the background.
Putting in the basis of the basket and then the leaves and the flowers, the edge is painted on in a silver wax paint to give a nice finish and highlight to the piece.
The painting then gets a light polish with a soft cloth, painting the wax is Matt in finish this little polish brings the depth and sheen to life.
This painting is in a Streets Ahead frame and shown here in my own 1:12th Gallery.
