How I painted a dollhouse !!

This is how I painted a dolls house picture…..

In fact I painted three dolls house paintings in Encaustic wax paint……

I was recently commissioned to paint a dollhouse for a lovely miniature art collector of mine in the Middle East. Ghaneya has challenged me on several occasions to paint for her, I love a challenge and painting for Ghaneya is always pleasure.

Such a fun project …..

This time the commission brief was to paint a two dollhouse paintings to go in her dollhouse, one pink and blue, one pink and white, other than that the style and design was left to me and artistic imagination.

I have seen photos of her own amazing dollhouse, it is beautiful and I decided to base the style of the pink and blue house on her own dollhouse. This was a lot of fun, with my enthusiasm and a slight cross communication and I painted a larger piece and a smaller piece ……

She wasn’t aware that I was styling the painting on her own dollhouse and when I sent her the photos….. her message was delightful.

“it is big 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wanted it to fit in my dollhouse but I love what you did”

We had a laugh about it ……

Ghaneya sent me a photograph this morning as the paintings all arrived today, hence why I am now writing this post.

She now has all three paintings the large painting (9 x 7 inches) and the miniature blue and pink dollhouse in a gold frame both versions of her house and another piece with a dollhouse and toys which I called “playroom” in a heavy gold frame 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches.

So this is how I painted a dollhouse ……

As you will probably be aware of, I paint in Encaustic wax paint using specialist heat tools, I took a few photos in and between painting so you can see how this piece came together.
