Bluebell Wood Dolls House Painting
Original miniature dollhouse art
Inspired by our walk in the woods at Hanningfield Essex over the Easter holiday weekend I decided to paint some of the amazing array of bluebells we saw on our walk. We have been tobsee the bluebells here before but this year they really are out in full, apparently it is an early show this year so we were especially pleased to see them and enjoy the colourful display.
This is my take on a miniature bluebell landscape, I hope you like it. It is 2×2 inches and currently listed in my Etsy store.

Facebook A Great Showcase for Art In Wax :: Posted by: Hazel on February 15th, 2017
Facebook A Great Showcase for Art In Wax
Art In Wax on Facebook
The Art In Wax Facebook page www.facebook.com/artinwax is where I show a lot of my work first nowadays, it is an ideal social media platform me. It is easy to use, allowing me to upload photos from my computer or phone, giving collectors and followers of my work an opportunity to see works in progress, and new works almost as soon as they are finished.
Facebooking about my art, especially my miniature dolls house pieces has proved to be a great way to share and sell my work online, I am a member of several groups on Facebook too and often I show pieces of art and they sell before they even reach my shops here and in Etsy. Which is great.
Connecting on Facebook
Facebook is also where a lot of my commission work comes from. And it is a great place to connect with the people interested in my paintings and art in general. I have made lots of friends (not just Facebook type friends – but real friends) via my connections on Facebook. I love to know where my art ends up and the feedback from the people I have connected with has been amazing.
These are just a very few of the Facebook comments I have had over the past couple of months.

Art In Wax Painting Highland Cows – First Commission of 2017 :: Posted by: Hazel on January 3rd, 2017
First Commission of 2017
Highland Cow – Modern Dolls House Art
Happy New Year to all my blog followers.
I was thinking of a subject for the first blog post of the new year when I received a commission to paint a miniature highland cow for a dolls house owner in Scotland, so I thought the first commission of the year would make a great first blog post of 2017.
Commissioned Art For Modern Dolls House
The miniature collector asked if I could paint a highland Cow picture for her dolls house, as this is a her favourite animal and she has several pictures in her home and it would be fun to have a miniature painting for her miniature property.
I painted two for choice and she has order both, the landscape has the cow in a heather filled grassland, this is an impressionist piece and has been supplied in a black wooden frame size 3 x 4 inches. The other piece of art is a on encaustic cream gloss card and is a modern, more of a portrait style just 2 1/2 inches high.
The photos shown here are on display in my own miniature property : The Gallery which is my 1:12 scale art gallery.
Commissioning a piece of miniature art
I love painting commissions, especially miniatures, these are only paint in my style, I do not paint reproductions. If you would like to commission a piece at a specific size and subject matter please contact me for more details.

ACEO Flower fairy Painting Exhibition :: Posted by: Hazel on November 11th, 2016
New Art In Wax Painting Exhibition.
If you are follower of my blog you will know that from time to time I like to paint a series of pictures within a theme that I feature on my Art In Wax website online exhibition page.
This time the feature is a collection of ACEO miniature paintings. This is the first time I have made an exhibition featuring miniature paintings.
ACEO are a popular art collectible.
ACEO stands for Art Card Editions and Originals and are a miniature type work of art, an ATC or ACEO can come in a wide variety of styles, materials and subjects. The only criteria is that the size is 2.5 x 3.5 inches.
Fantasy Art In Wax
Fantasy art is a new area for me, I haven’t really painted very much before this year. With my recent new fantasy paintings proving very popular, fairies and dragon in particular, I thought that an miniature ACEO / flower fairy format would make a great combination for an exhibition.
Flower Fairy – The ACEO Collection
This collection of Art In Wax are mixed media, as I have used my computer to print onto the card a birder and words before painting the flower fairies. Painted using my specialist heat tools, onto a green semi sheen card, in my encaustic wax paints each is 2.5 x 3.5 inches approx.
These paintings are not yet listed in my shop but are for sale contact me to buy direct from me the artist.
To view the full collection of 9 paintings please …..
